The Ditch Rider is in charge of ensuring that water reaches users smoothly and fairly. She prepares the ditch in advance of the season, working with the President and the Maintenance Manager to clear the channel, remove obstructions, place new liner where called for, and generally get the ditch ready. She brings down the water at the start of the season, removes debris during the season, and cleans the ditch after the season. Her job includes monitoring water use on the Main Ditch and discussing any breach of conduct with Main Ditch users. She opens and closes lateral gates during the season. She handles emergencies. She is the one to call if there are any Main Ditch problems.
